Norrland's Best Metal Festival *CANCELLED*

For the second consecutive year, House Of Metal has canceled because of Covid-19 current restrictions, recommendations, and uncertainty. As we all know the last two years have been extremely frustrating and unpredictable for event promoters in Sweden and abroad. Eleven weeks away from the official date, the HoM festival organizers made the decision to cancel and come back in 2023 instead.

"It is with sadness in our hearts that we now have decided to cancel this year's House of Metal".
(House of Metal, 2022).

The official announcement was made three days ago on their socials and they stated that the ticket center would contact all ticket buyers with more information about repurchases.

For those of you that still don't know the festival House of Metal is a two-day indoor festival dedicated to various kinds of metal. The festival premiered at Umeå Folkets Hus in February 2007 and has been held once per year since then. HoM has a capacity of 2700 visitors per night and enforces an age limit of 18. The festival counts with three stages, approx. 25 bands, Swedish and international, and a market area every year. For more information visit their website: www.houseofmetal.se and if you want to watch "a smakprov" as we say in Sweden meaning "a sneak peek" you should watch their official after-movie 2020 below.

We at Wacken Metal Battle Sweden (WMBS) are still on board with our final metal battle 2020, which will take place this Spring 2022 (two years later because of Covid-19) and we have hope that everything will work out well. As WMBS supports local bands only, there shouldn't be any problems bringing back the final. However, as the Covid-19 restrictions change more than our underwear we suggest that you keep an eye out on our newsletters for more info and updates.
